Pain Neuroscience Posters

Sku: 876SET

This neuroscience of pain education poster set from Adriaan Louw includes four 17¾” x 24” posters designed for display in your clinic or practice.

Featuring the content and recognizable illustrations of Adriaan Louw’s neuroscience education books, these posters explain the foundational principles behind the neuroscience of pain.

The 17¾” x 24” posters are large enough to display on the walls of a patient room or lobby and allow for easy reading of text. The detailed, full-color illustrations are designed to generate interest and engage your patients in the learning process so they can better understand the reasons why they hurt.

Each poster includes scientific support footnotes that cite sources for all data and findings.

Set includes four posters:

  • The Brain’s Pain Meeting — illustrates how regions of the brain react to the multi-tasking they must do when we experience pain
  • The Body’s Alarm System — demonstrates how the body’s nervous system operates like an alarm system when experiencing pain
  • The Pain Cycle — shows the recurring phases of how pain affects our thoughts, emotions and overall health
  • Tissues: Did You Know? — explains why tissues and problems found on scans may not be the cause of ongoing pain
Sold as a set of four. Non-returnable.

A must-have

No longer will my walls be bare or worse, display unsightly anatomy posters. This is a product I have been waiting for and I am so glad it has arrived! The design of the posters is simple, elegant, easy to understand and aesthetically pleasing to the eye. There is just enough education to allow these posters to serve as conversation starters, without being too busy. If you teach your patient's about pain and the neuroscience mechanisms, these are a must have tool for your clinic. Let your walls do the hard part and initiate the conversation. We have framed ours in the clinic and they look fantastic, however, they will look just as good slapped up on the wall on their own with some push pins (they have a nice glassy finish). I can assure you you will not regret this product like some of your books that simply live on your book shelf. These will work for you everyday!

Excellent Education Tool for Patients!

This attractive, informative set of posters hangs in my PT gym. They are great conversation starters for a wide variety of patients, ranging from high school athletes with acute orthopedic injuries to patients struggling with fibromyalgia and chronic low back pain. Rather than focusing on nasty looking tissue injuries or intimidating technical anatomical drawings, these tools provide sensible and encouraging information that reminds people that tissues heal, and that sensitive nerves can calm down. They cover many fundamental principles of pain neuroscience education and are easy to follow. I have found them particularly helpful to reinforce information shared using the cards from the Why You Hurt box. I highly recommend this product for any therapist looking to maximize their opportunities to educate and instill hope in their patients. The Pain Neuroscience Posters truly do "allow my walls to work for me" by creating an optimistic atmosphere that encourages healing on many levels. Education IS therapy! Thank you ISPI for producing yet another tool that is changing the lives of our patients!

A must-have item for anyone providing Therapeutic Neuroscience Education (TNE)

After having the pleasure of hearing Adriaan speak on the subject of Pain, I needed a way to harness his energy, his passion and the simplicity behind his teachings to be able to better help my patients. I had ordered these posters and the "Why You Hurt" kits to use in the clinic and all of the practitioners are addicted to it. It's important for us all to be consistent in how we educate patients and when we are helping patients unlearn what they "know" about pain, we often need backup. The posters and the kits help us provide the same stories to every patient while also providing visual aids and credibility to our teachings. They also make TNE easy! The posters not only help with teaching patients whom are ready to learn/change, but they also start the conversation for those whom are curious and in the pre-contemplative phase of readiness to change. This is the true value of these posters. Put them right in the waiting room and in the corridors and have patients be curious. Help provide confidence that we are able to help demystify our patients' pains. To quote Adriaan, help patients "Know Pain, Know Gain." TNE doesn't have to be difficult to implement in a clinic and these posters CERTAINLY help both novices and experienced TNE practitioners alike.
