Everyone Has Back Pain

Sku: 8754

Adriaan Louw’s neuroscience education book will help you understand why your back hurts and teach you strategies for controlling and lessening your pain.

Like other books in the Louw series, Everyone Has Back Pain is based on research indicating you’ll feel less pain, move better, exercise longer and experience more success with therapy when understanding what pain actually is and how it works in the body.

The book, written for people of all ages who experience back pain, examines some of the typical myths that exist about this common condition and provides simple strategies for lessening the pain.

  • Written in an easy-to-read format with color illustrations
  • Breaks down complex neuroscience into plain language and metaphors
  • Demonstrates how to calm nerves to reduce pain

Written by clinical neuroscience researcher Adriaan Louw, along with co-authors Timothy Flynn and Emilio Puentedura.

Illustrated. Spiral-bound softcover; 94 pages.
Non-returnable.

Great for patients and clinicians alike

This booklet should be required reading for anyone who is concerned about back pain AND any clinician who treats those suffering from back pain. This book provides much needed education about pain, why pain behaves the way that it does, common myths about back pain, and effective active treatments for back pain. Importantly, the book offers evidence-based advice on how to better understand and take control of your pain.

The BEST back pain education resource you could ever buy to provide to patients!

I have recently started in a new position where I exclusively treat folks with persistent pain, many of whom have persistent back pain. This book is a complete game changer, I provide them with this resource and have gotten nothing but positive feedback thus far from my patients. It really sets the state for improved understanding of the multiple contributory factors to back pain from the biopsychosocial model, and allows for a great educational foundation for us to build off of together to determine best treatment strategies. You won't regret using this for your patients!

Educate first approach works!

This book is great for the patient who is very visual and needs quick digestible information to really understand why their back hurts. It takes very little time to read and the metaphors make it easy to understand.

A Great Book for Everyone!

Regardless of whether or not you are working in a medical profession or a layman, are experiencing back pain or not, are a student or a practioner, this book is for you! Useful information is conveyed in a fun, easily comprehensible, and often humorous way to make the subject matter appropriate for all audiences. Afterall, EVERYONE will have back pain at some point in their lives ("the other 20% might be lying to us"). Everyone Has Back Pain takes an entirely novel view on back pain, challenging how and why most practioners currently treat it and our mindset as patients when dealing with it. This book will change the way you look at back pain and probably pain in general! I plan on sharing it with all of my friends and family!
