About the Authors

Michael Fredericson, MD

Dr. Fredericson is professor and director of Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation Sports Medicine Clinics at Stanford University. For the past 20 years, he has served as one of the head physicians for Stanford University athletic teams and has published more than 100 scientific articles and book chapters on musculoskeletal injuries. Senior editor for PM&R—the journal of injury, function and rehabilitation—he is also on the Scientific Advisory Board for Runner’s World Magazine.

Terri Lyn S. Yamamoto, PhD

Terri Lyn S. Yamamoto holds a doctorate in visual perception from UC Berkeley. She has over 10 years experience in the fitness industry with certifications from the American College of Sports Medicine, the American Council on Exercise and the National Academy of Sports Medicine. She currently teaches fitness yoga and Pilates through Polestar education.

Mark Fadil, CMT

Mark Fadil is the Executive Director of the Sports Medicine Institute (SMI) in Palo Alto, CA.
