About the Authors

Adriaan Louw, PT, PhD: Renowned Author and Pain Researcher

Adriaan has taught throughout the US and internationally for 20 years at numerous national and international manual therapy, pain science and medical conferences. He is a Certified Spinal Manual Therapist, Therapeutic Pain Specialist and has authored and co-authored over 50 peer-reviewed articles, books and book chapters related to spinal disorders and pain science. He is the Director of the Therapeutic Neuroscience Research Group – an independent collaborative initiative studying pain neuroscience and is the Program Director of the Therapeutic Pain Specialist and Pain Science Fellowship post-graduate program for Evidence in Motion.

Jennifer Welter, PT, DPT

A pediatric physical therapist and Fellow of Pain Sciences, Jennifer has used a biopsychosocial approach to address pediatric pain in her teaching and clinical practice at Kaiser Permanente since 2009. She has a passion for adapting and integrating the concepts of pain neuroscience into pediatric care and educating healthcare professionals about pediatric pain neuroscience.

Jessie Podolak, PT, DPT

A Fellow of Pain Sciences, Jessie Podolak has been practicing physical therapy since 1998. She is the owner/operator of a direct-pay physical therapy practice in Eau Claire, Wisconsin, specializing in the treatment of individuals with complex and/or chronic pain. A former Fellowship Director at Evidence in Motion, she currently serves as a senior faculty member.
