About Joe Tatta, PT, DPT, CNS
Dr. Tatta is the founder of the Integrative Pain Science Institute, where he leads initiatives that advance integrative and psychologically informed physical therapy. He is the developer of Pain Resilience Therapy—a strengths-based approach to chronic pain—and creator of the Mental Health Physical Therapist Certification Program, which helps physical therapists integrate mental health into practice. Dr. Tatta has published 15 peer-reviewed articles and authored three books on pain management, including the textbook Integrative and Lifestyle Medicine in Physical Therapy: A Guide to Primary Care, Health Promotion, and Disease Prevention. He hosts the Pain Science Podcast and the Mental Health Physical Therapist Podcast, platforms dedicated to advancing evidence-based pain care and mental health integration in rehabilitation. His work focuses on implementation science and supporting physical therapists to practice at the top of their scope.
