Advances in Pilates for Diverse Rehab Populations

Pilates is one of the fastest-growing wellness practices worldwide, yet nearly 70% of adults face movement limitations related to obesity, chronic conditions, injury, or deconditioning. This creates both a challenge and an opportunity for rehabilitation professionals. In this session, Dr. Brent Anderson—physical therapist, researcher, and founder of Polestar Pilates—will explore how evidence-based applications of Pilates can expand accessibility to movement for people across the spectrum of health, from disease and trauma recovery to wellness and performance. Participants will gain insights into current research, practical applications, and strategies to integrate Pilates into rehabilitation practice for more inclusive and impactful patient outcomes.
