What is a Foam Roller?

Foam rollers are tools for massage and exercise that you’re likely to see in gyms, clinics and homes. While usually a long cylinder of dense foam, foam rollers now come in many shapes, sizes and textures. When used for self-massage, they help soothe tight, sore areas (known as “trigger points”) and speed up muscle recovery. This process of rolling out tight muscles and relieving tension is also called myofascial release. They are also ideal for Pilates, core training and more.

The OPTP® Difference

As one of the nation’s first foam roller providers, in 1996, OPTP® has maintained the reputation for having the best quality, most durable foam rollers available. Every roller is built to perform in high-use settings, like clinics and fitness centers—and they’re excellent for in-home use.

Your Perfect Density

From firm to super soft, you’ll find the right roller for your body (or anybody). OPTP® PRO-ROLLER® Standard is a great starting point for most people—moderately firm with a touch of give. If you’re a little more sensitive, opt for the PRO-ROLLER® Soft—you can get all the benefit with more comfort.

More Than Warm-Up and Cool-Down

The benefits of foam rolling before and after exercise are well known, but they were originally created as exercise tools. As you browse these tools, you’ll find books about Pilates on foam rollers and product videos featuring innovative ways foam rollers increase the challenge of your favorite exercises.
