About Adriaan Louw, PT, PhD

Dr. Louw is a Certified Spinal Manual Therapist and has a PhD focusing on Pain Neuroscience Education. He has taught post-graduate spinal manual therapy and pain science throughout the US and internationally since 1996 and is at the forefront of the fight against the opioid crisis.

Through his writing, teaching and presentations across the globe, he is educating individuals and healthcare professionals on how pain works, while offering safe and effective alternatives to help treat it. Dr. Louw has authored and co-authored the Why You Hurt series of patient pain education books, as well as pain neuroscience textbooks, designed to educate other healthcare professionals about the neuroscience of pain. He serves as the Vice-President of Faculty Experience and the Pain Science Director at Evidence in Motion (EIM), which he co-founded.
