From the Back Cover
Do you find yourself slouched forward over your desk, straining your back and tensing your neck, with your shoulders scrunched up to your ears? Do you get so engrossed in a project that you suddenly realize your body is stiff and sore from being in the same position too long? How often do you listen to your body’s needs?
Desk Pilates is an invitation to bring the benefits of a little recess into each day―to be mindful of your breathing, to explore body-mind connections, to effectively utilize core muscles to support your spine, to increase your awareness of posture and positioning, and to playfully emphasize strength and flexibility throughout your daily activities―even while sitting at your desk! Desk Pilates is different from many other forms of exercise because it invites you to move mindfully, focus on your breathing, and strengthen your deep postural muscles as part of whole body movement.
