Mulligan Seating Concept

This comfortable seat cushion keeps the knees below the hips and makes it easy to maintain a healthy lumbar lordosis, helping to relieve low back pain. The highest point of the cushion is placed under the ischial tuberosity instead of at the back of the chair. This placement allows more effective use of a lumbar roll if additional back support is required. This Mulligan Concept seat cushion is available in a standard model and a firm model and features a moisture-wicking mock-mesh fabric.

Creator of the Mulligan Concept

Brian Mulligan originated and developed the concept of combining accessory mobilizations with physiological movements in the extremities (MWMS). In the spine, he promotes the use of natural apophyseal glides (NAGS) and sustained natural apophyseal glides (SNAGS). He received the prestigious International Service to The Profession Award from the WCPT and has been an international lecturer in manual therapy since 1972.
