The Com-Pressor™ Belt

Sku: 677

Sku: 679

A uniquely designed sacroiliac belt, The Com-PressorTM allows pelvic support positioning to be customized to the patient’s needs. Non-returnable.

The Com-Pressor™ is a superior pelvic compression belt that helps promote pelvic and core stability during retraining of impaired lumbo-pelvic core muscles that may develop from pregnancy, surgery, sprains and more.

Developed by Diane Lee, PT, the patented Com-Pressor allows both the location and level of compression to be easily adjusted around the pelvic girdle using individually applied elastic compression bands. The user places the inelastic belt on first and, then, the support bands can be applied exactly where support is needed. For example, Diane Lee performs a test where she compresses the pelvis in different positions and has the patient lift each leg. Once determining which compression positions yielded the best results, the bands can be placed in those exact spots for personalized relief.

The Com-Pressor pelvic belt is ideal for a number of lumbo-pelvic conditions, from postpartum women to those recovering from injuries such as groin strains, lower abdominal strains, sacroiliac joint instability, hernia, osteitis pubis or impaired core muscle function. It helps restore a functional corset of pelvic compression allowing confident and comfortable core muscle re-training and strengthening.

Non-slip comfort assures user compliance and maximum results, and the low profile design allows patients to wear The Com-Pressor under clothing without unsightly bulkiness. Each Com-Pressor includes one inelastic belt, four elastic compression straps and an instruction booklet; replacement straps are available separately. This product contains latex.

WASHING INSTRUCTIONS: Hand wash in cold water with mild detergent. Line dry or lay flat to dry. DO NOT USE HOT WATER. DO NOT MACHINE WASH OR TUMBLE DRY.

IT helps ease my pain

Highly Recommended

I stock these in our DME store because the local PTs recommend them for their patients. The patients that have purchased them have said that they really improved their quality of life by relieving the pain they had been in on a continual basis. Wearing The Compressor helps them live each day with less pain.

It gave incredible stability to my L SIJ

I like the versatility of using the compression bands to customize the support to the individual. I am using it myself for L SIJ instability in conjunction with prolotherapy to stabilize the joint. I am having good success so far. The only draw back, as with all SI braces that I have tried, is that it rides up on those of us with more posterior curves.

Helps body remember

I've used these belts forever 12 years following pelvic and abdominal stability treatment and awareness training. Correct use facilitates intrinsic firing of stabilizing proprioceptors, rather than holding extrinsic structures rigidly. Imposed "stability" using extrinsic structures bypasses intrinsic autonomic nervous system stabilizers. Diane Lee has been ahead of the curve for stability training and awareness, along with Australian research, and what I'm grateful for what I've learned regarding what I call "true core stabilization" to help a lot of chronic pain clients.

Sacroilliac relief

After nearly 2 years of lower back, hip and leg pain, and hours and hours of physical therapy and daily exercises, my physical therapist who specialized in pelvic pain diagnosed me with a sacro-iliac muscle disorder and had me try this belt. I had been using another belt on and off that had Velcro on end of the end of the belt so I could tighten it much like a regular belt that you'd use with pants; I thought it gave me pretty good support until I used The Compressor. Because of its elasticity, I could tighten this band and felt as though my whole pelvis was supported. It also comes with two additional Velcro bands to put on the sides of my pelvis for EXTRA support. I hand-wash it and have to pick at the Velcro pads to keep them clean - which you have to do with any pads. There is only one thing I have noticed after using for over a year: the elasticity in the belt tends to want to curl inward, from top to bottom. When I air dry it, I hang it on a rack so it uses gravity to keep it's shape. I have to dress up for work and this fits well under my pants (disadvantage for those who want to appear "skinny and shapely" - the belt rearranges extra flab and pushes it upwards}.

Great!

I've had sacro/hip/lumbar pain and discomfort for many years. As soon as I put this belt on I felt instant stability and easing of the discomfort. Been wearing it for about a week and feel it is helping me develop my core.
